Privacy Policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
The short version
- PostToHired never sends an email on its own, and it never gets access to your Gmail inbox.
- Signing in with Google shares only your email address and Google account ID.
- What you save (contacts, resume, send history and settings) is stored on our server so it’s there next time. You can delete all of it from Settings at any time.
- We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Who we are
PostToHired is a Chrome extension for job hunting on LinkedIn, together with this website, posttohired.in. In this policy “we” and “us” mean the people who run PostToHired. You can reach us at manish.yadav.dev.sde@gmail.com.
What we collect
Your Google account
When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and your Google account ID. That’s all we ask Google for (the openid and email permissions). PostToHired does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive or Google Contacts through Google’s APIs.
Contacts you save
When you click Scan This Page, the extension reads the page you’re looking at and picks out email addresses, along with names, company names and the text of the post they appear in. When you click Save Emails, these contacts are stored in your account.
Your resume
If you upload a resume (a PDF of up to 5 MB), we store the file so it can be attached to your drafts and used to write emails for you.
Send history
For each draft you open from PostToHired, we record the recipient’s email address, name and company, the subject line, the time, and whether it came from the Send tab or CustomSend. After you send it, we also save the Gmail conversation ID so the Follow-up tab can reopen that conversation, and we note when you follow up.
Open and click tracking
Emails drafted with PostToHired include a small tracking image, and the links in them go through our server before reaching the real page. When a recipient opens the email or clicks a link, we record that it happened and when, and show it to you as Opened. Like any web request, these reach our server with technical details such as an IP address and browser type. When the email is viewed in your own Gmail account, the extension tells our server, so your own views aren’t counted as opens.
Your settings
Your email templates, follow-up message, custom AI prompt, and any extra sites you’ve allowed the extension to scan.
This website
posttohired.in doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes standard request information such as IP addresses to serve the site and keep it secure. Everything on the site, including fonts, is served from posttohired.in, so no other company sees your visit.
What the extension does in your browser
- It reads a web page only when you click Scan This Page. Nothing is scanned in the background.
- LinkedIn works without extra permissions. Any other site needs your approval in Chrome’s own permission prompt first.
- On Gmail, it fills in the drafts you open from PostToHired and looks for its own tracking image, so your own views aren’t counted as opens. It doesn’t read, copy or upload your other emails.
- It never presses Send. You review every draft and send it yourself.
How AI is used
When you ask PostToHired to write an email, we send the post text, the contact’s name and company, your resume, and any prompt or instructions you’ve added to an AI model provider through OpenRouter, which returns a subject line and body. Saved email addresses may also be checked by an AI model to tell hiring contacts apart from other addresses. We send this information only to produce what you asked for.
How we use your information
- To run the features you use: saving contacts, writing and opening drafts, follow-ups and the dashboard.
- To keep your data in sync between sessions and devices where you’re signed in.
- To keep the service working and secure, and to prevent abuse.
We don’t sell your information, share it with data brokers, or use it to show you ads.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run PostToHired:
- Google, for sign-in.
- Cloudflare, which hosts our server.
- Our database provider, where your account data is stored.
- OpenRouter and the AI model provider it routes to, for writing and checking emails.
- Vercel, which hosts this website.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Information about other people
The contacts you save are people who published their email address in a public post, usually recruiters asking for applications. Please contact them for the reason they shared it, and respect it if someone asks you to stop emailing them.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your data for as long as you use PostToHired. In the extension, Settings → Delete my data permanently removes your saved lists, history, resume and settings from our server. Removing the extension from Chrome deletes the data it keeps in your browser.
Security
All traffic between the extension, our server and this website is encrypted with HTTPS, and your account data can only be reached with your Google sign-in.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to withdraw your consent. You can delete everything yourself from Settings, or email us and we’ll help.
Google user data
PostToHired’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Children
PostToHired is made for job seekers and isn’t directed at children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change how PostToHired handles your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we’ll tell you in the extension as well.
